Sango & Monte Booker Plug The City with Dope Vibes

San Francisco popped off on Saturday night. Sango & Monte Booker took the stage at the Regency Ballroom for the ITCO tour. For those of you in to new age hip-hop as well as up and coming producers in the game, these are two “can’t miss” mixers of music and beats.

Monte Booker, a native of Chicago, Illinois, has  continued to work his in the industry with his unique production style that blends hip-hop, r&b, and electronic music genres. He has worked with up and coming St. Louis based artist, Smino, on a couple song collaborations, Kolors and Menu. Both of which slap to a whole other level. Booker also helps lead the way for new Chicago collective, Zero Fatigue, along with Smino & Ravyn Lenae. There’s plenty still to be written and recorded for this young producer and those around him.

On Saturday night, Monte Booker took his place on the 1’s & 2’s and absolutely gave the crowd a show that they would not forget. Besides playing Kolors to end out his set, his mind-altering visuals were out of this world. Where else would you be able to find a cartoon image of a woman flashing her breasts while her heart-shaped nipples move towards you like it’s a 3D movie?! As far as I know, you can only see this at a Monte Booker event. This was a sold out show and it lived up to its billing.

Sango is a Seattle based producer who has shown great skill in mixing and mastering different genres together. We all know of his production work on Mick Jenkins’ hit single Spread Love. Sango has been able to play with multiple artists’ original workings and remix them into his own. In 2016, he release a collaborative project with Xavier Omar titled, Hours Spent loving You.

Sango mixed it up heavily during his set in which I am sure he was able to cater to several types of audiences. He opened up with UGK’s Int’l Player’s Anthem and from that point, the audience had no chance of staying calm and collective. One after another, Sango brought out hit after hit. He followed up the anthem with remixed singles from Drake, Bryson Tiller, Usher, & Aaliyah. My personal favorite was Aaliyah as he reworked the Timbaland produced single, Try Again. When that popped off, I was literally the only one in the crowd poppin’ and lockin’! LOL. That was super fun. Just when I thought he was done, he dropped a reworked mix of Overnight Celebrity. Everything about his set and this show was simply amazing.

Below is the only video clip I took during Sango’s set and I didn’t even have my iPhone turned the right way. If you ever see that Monte Booker or Sango are doing a set in a town near you, GET TICKETS ASAP! No regrets, I promise you.
