In an era of bay area hoops that can be described by every fanatic as one that is at an all-time high. The diamond made from gold  that has become the Golden State Warriors features a core that possesses 2 League MVPs & 4 All-Stars overall, has the entire Bay Area in the palm of their hands. Although inhabitants of the Bay Area go bananas over their professional team, basketball culture in this geographical region does not just begin and end with the Dubs. A multitude of traditions surround the one that everybody seems to be hopping on and I want the world to know that the hoops culture in the bay bleeds other colors and shades of pride and allegiance.

Bay Entitees looks forward to covering the following college basketball teams in the Bay Area.

Non-Conference Schedule Record: 9-3

Top Performers: So. F Ivan Rabb, Sr. G Jabari Bird, Fr. G Charlie Moore

  • Ranked 25th in the nation at in the second week of the season, the Golden Bears since then have not regained a place in the National Rankings. However, they have displayed three solid go-to players in Bay Area natives Ivan Rabb (Oakland), Jabari Bird (Vallejo), and freshman point guard Charlie Moore. With sights of a Pac-12 title, the road is tough with fellow Pac-12 powerhouses and nationally ranked UCLA Bruins, Oregon Ducks, Arizona Wildcats, & USC Trojans. It will be interesting to see how Head Coach Cuonzo Martin drives his team throughout conference play.

Non-Conference Schedule Record: 10-3

Top Performers: Sr. G Ronnie Boyce, Fr. G Charles Minlend, Jr. F Chase Foster

  • USF has cruised through non-conference play with a strong showing at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic in which they lost to the Mountain West’s San Diego State in the Finals after defeating the Pac-12’s Utah Utes and Illinois State Redbirds respectively. With Boyce & Foster as the only upperclassmen on the roster, Head Coach Kyle Smith has thrown an array of lineups featuring each player as the go-to scoring options whenever the other is riding pine and to see which young freshman can step up to play a role for a deep WCC playoff run.
